We aim to foster intercultural encounters and exchange through various art forms. African cultures can be experienced through music, dance, food, and other art forms. The underlying idea of the festival is to break down barriers between people and to see ourselves as one community. There will be activities for all ages, bringing together diverse people—people of different origins, different religious backgrounds, and people of different ages. The festival offers a low-threshold meeting place for dialogue, breaking down existing prejudices, and celebrating culture and community together. At the same time, it creates a platform for artists (and groups) to present their art, giving them a voice.

Arrival:

You can easily arrive by S2 train. The location is right next to the Hallenbad Forchheim stop.

Brunch:

We'd like to have breakfast with you again, just like in 2023. You're welcome to come to the location on Saturday from 11 a.m. and enjoy the breakfast buffet with us. We'll provide you with the basics, like rolls and toppings, but we'd be happy if you'd like to contribute some sweet or savory delicacies. The end is scheduled for around 1 p.m. with the start of the activities and the first workshop.

Admission:

Admission will be free again this year. We welcome a solidarity contribution (e.g., €5 per person) from visitors who are willing and able to support us financially. Only through your donations we can adequately pay the artists for their work.

Food:

Sister Betty and her crew will once again be cooking us delicious meals. On Friday evening, delicious sambos await you. These are deep-fried, filled pastries that are popular on many continents. There will also be a vegan option for you. On Saturday, you can enjoy helping prepare the food yourself under Betty's guidance and learn how to cook these dishes. We'll meet at 10 a.m. for this. Feel free to register at nubianfamily@gmx.de if you'd like to cook, come join us. The menu includes the popular mafé (rice with peanut sauce and various vegetables – optionally with meat) and yassa, a Senegalese delicacy (a slightly sour sauce with onions). The finished meal will be ready for you on Saturday from around 1 p.m.

This year food and drinks will be donation-based again. We'd love for you to try our delicacies and help fund this free festival.

Workshops:

Participation in the workshops is free and without registration. However, the number of participants is limited, so please make sure you arrive on time. No prior knowledge or materials are required. However, for the drum workshop, it would be great if you could bring your own drum if you don't have one. For the art workshop, we welcome donations to cover the material costs.

Our festival will be free again this year. Therefore, we rely on your donations to make it possible. You can support the festival financially here:
